Word Pictures Winner! March 18-23rd. Free verse -33 lines. Prompt 1 -Zdzisław Beksiński
Organic architectures pulsating sterility,
Harvesters sleep breathless slumber,
Tumours of humanity removed,
Removed but conscious.
We have no body.
We are nobody.

We are nobodies,
Who have no bodies,
Amber skies, no atmosphere,
No extinction signs to see here,
Machines, not metal, an ashen birth,
Artificial vibrations drove scenery to ruin.

Fragmented,
Memory,
Damaged minds do wander wastelands,
Eternally wondering, familiar facades,
Lost,
Scared,
Beaten,
Numbed,
Falling,
Further,
Abyssal pits of unknown despair,
Will life again be for the living?

I know my body,
I'm not nobody,
I have no body,
floating here,
but where?

Decline from the bell-tower,
for the bell-tower,
The world in decline,
in decay.
