Experience I've lived through
Each day I wake,
But is it real?
I take my pills,
But will they heal?

The world was pain
With naught to gain.
I longed for days
Of numbness and dark.

I do what I'm told
And I feel old.
How much longer
Will the pain last?

I take my pills,
Longing for numbness
Receiving cold instead
And darkness follows.

How much longer?
How long to wait?
I'm dying and scared.
I scream silently.

How he heard
I've not a clue.
Our meeting was
Cosmic and overdue.

He was my knight
And he fought true.
He rescued me and
Kept me whole.
