This is the reason flyswatters were invented
Petite and delicate,
a house fly
floats
on recirculated air currents.

Its dark body--
a storm cloud on the horizon--
impregnated
with unknown pestilence.

It descends
momentarily resting
on the white lip
of a red cup.
