Death is not the end of life

Do not coat my memories in the ashes of my existence

For ashes corrode and scatters memories like dust

My life didn’t follow the path of least resistance

Nor was it lived to be blown away by a gentle gust

My life was a quest, journey, a pursuit of pleasure

For leers, for laughs, for loves, for a longing, a lust

For things that were mine, for things that I treasured

And my life was always MINE to live, until I bit the dust

The echo of my impact will linger, as long as YOU draw breath

So do not mourn that I am gone, kin ships don’t end with death
