A haiku describing anxiety and my coping mechanism.
Anxiety comes
Seemingly out of nowhere.
It yanks at my guts.

Stomach convulses,
Heartbeat so fast it feels numb,
Almost drawn to tears.

"Hide its origin,"
I tell myself. I know best
To find distractions.

I play some music.
I open my notebook,
Count the syllables.

I feel better now.
Though origin still exists,
My mind is at peace.
