A Valentine's Day Poem
Desolation from above,
Frigid wasteland surveyed,
Wings licked by crisp air,
Ravens of darkness
Taste azure emptiness.

Companionship missing
Despite the presence
Of countless others,
Bright beauty possible
But distant and bleached.

Majesty surrounds
The matte flat ice,
Holding ephemeral beauty,
Melting slowly down
Into ripples of loss.

The winter of loneliness,
Brimming silent despair,
Spins hollow wind,
Spiraling into the hole
Where love should be.
