An Old Dresser Drawer

It has been decades ago since she pulled open that old dresser drawer,
gently reaching inside and lifting from the time capsule the
yellowed letters and faded photographs.
Memories of the 1940's flooding her mind, the songs that
played on the radio while he was off at war, it was 1944.
The trinkets and gadgets off of his uniform, she touched them with such a reverent
longing, misty eyed as she thought of those days so long ago.
