The mental battle of staying in a toxic relationship that slowly eats away at your soul
We had a good thing going,
You and I,
But like a bad country song,
No one is going to remember you tomorrow.

The fights,
The anger,
Licking at our heels,
Like a bonfire ready to explode.

Baby,
Common you know this one,
How it ends,
How this story can spin.

Crimson drops like rain on a lake,
The puddles grow and grow,
Struggling to regain sanity,
That you stripped away with malice I never knew possible.

Baby,
Common you know this one,
How it began and how it ends,
The blind rage you brought out with the monster,
Buried deep under the surface.

They want to take my tinfoil crown,
Baby,
Hold on,
The flames glow orange and toxic,
Baby it's time for me to release and let you go..
