Moving through a rough relationship to find happiness.
The Chrysalis


steamy desire
claims me
magic lust to start
becomes evil fuel
all consuming
fans needful flames

You tunnel
beneath skin
replace thirsty rivers
brandy flows
constant ache
you fail control
medicate

I am
helpless moth
broken vessel
safe in dark shadows
you sap, drain vigor
your self love
all consuming

A miracle
born from grace
a higher love
erases numbness
feelings return
a cocoon
opens

I abstain
gain power
remember
to protect
preserve, provide
truth tips the scales

I run free, wings on my heels.
