Seeing the gravity and our response as uncertain - a sports poem.
Missed the playoffs, a heightened crumb.
Absence, lack of envy dumb.
Rueful voice, a feeling glum -
How the offense used to hum...

Many swallows in our game.
Apparitions know thy name;
Simple constructs are to blame;
Maddening truths so deeply shame.

When a vision, spark of hope
Longs for more great plays to cope,
It’s the end of one long rope -
Inspired gifts, no need to mope!

A valued gaunt - a want so able;
Let’s kick it now, and leave the stable.
Horseshoes knocking, send the cable -
Competition on every table.
