Our lives hold places and moments that can become reality at any time.
Rainy spring Saturday
In Baltimore
Brings feelings
Of memories
Of Ohio Saturdays
When we’d lie late in bed
Rise
Put on gentle music
And share the gray

Damp

Quiet

Peace.

----------

You in one chair,
Biology.
I in the other,
History.
The window open,
A crack.
The leaves outside
Dripping in the mist.
The lights inside
Warm shelter from the gray.

The leaves dripping

Warmth

Quiet

Peace.

----------

Needing only a glance
To know
You were.

Reassurance at that
Reality.

* * * * *

No such reassurance
Today.

Only the memory
Of the feeling
Of
The mist
The gray
The love,

The leaves dripping

Warmth

Quiet

Peace.
