so many wrong people wanting parts of you you don't want to give them
I unfurl my attention in bits
And pieces.
In glances.
And a curl at the corner of my mouth.
Because my attention is an ocean
A universe
And we will drown you in it,
Crash you against the unseen
Suck the air out until there is no more and still suck,
More.
Endless.
You think you can handle it,
You try my eyes,
Seek my smile.
Try to convince me I'm willing to offer it.
But my system, it's for your safety
A glance over here,
A smile for a stranger,
A touch on the arm for an old friend.
they diminish,
the buildup,
Inside of me.
Temper the edge.
But this,
This is not for you.
