melancholic words of unrequited fondness
just how silly do i seem
whenever i reminisce
old memories that fill me with joy
whilst they are nothing more
than mere past times
for you.

you say nothing as i look back
with fondness in my eyes,
letting me believe
that you feel longing
just as much as i do
but, in fact,
you could not possibly care
nor even bat an eye
for any of them.

truly, you are cruel
yet you are not to blame.
in the end,
despite it hurting me so,
the fault is not yours
for not feeling the same.
