I came across a volume of poetry an old friend authored and started to write a memory...
“Man, I gotta get out of Jersey,”
The poem started and ended.

Somewhere in between,
Liz, my long ago friend
From the panhandle of Texas
Told me a tale of nuns
And theft of broken hearts
And all the things
Which would eventually
Leave me lonely
And longing for her,
Somewhere far away again
As I looked for cheap
Bus, train, or airline tickets.

“Man, I gotta get out of Jersey,”
The poem started and ended.
