She crept closer to hear them.


Unable to their silence bear          
She crept closer to get near them          
Whispers taunted her ear lightly          
Though they brought a fear so weighty          
She could now hear cold words spoken          
Words that sear when forming meaning          
Her dear friends had told her such lies          
Tear after tear streamed from her eyes
