A legacy and decent principle which makes no sense - a political poem.
For the decision-making countenance
Of a once proud and perfect land.

For which history
Has a most established
And vital regard.

A world desecrated
And violated appearing
At the doorstep.

Our bludgeoning recollection.

Treating that mass of victims
To their awesome release
Into our divided culture;

Twice the inhibition
Would be deemed disturbing...

A crossing to bear
For a saintly role -
And a human trafficking
So panicky and prodigious
That it precludes a thoughtful,
Sustained germination.
