"The day is done, gone the sun,"
Listen to Taps echoing,
"The day is done, gone is the sun,"1
Veteran stands at attention,
saluting buddies
who have passed into the warriors' paradise.

Listen to Taps echoing,
bringing back memories
of those who fought and died in battle,
or those who who came home.

Listen to Taps echoing,
and pause to whisper a prayer
of gratitude for both
the Veterans and the departed.
