Honoring our veterans

Thank you to all our soldiers near and far
Thank you to all who have served our military
Past and present have raised that bar
Their service wasn’t always voluntary.

Thanks for the sacrifices made for freedom;
Time away from home, family, and friends
Prisoners of war, PTSD, and seizing them.
Bombs and explosions threatening their end.

Muddy trenches, difficult obstacles, and toxic gasses
Nerve damage, disabilities, forgotten veterans
Looking forward to receiving those weekend passes
Waiting and watching for that weekly letter man.

Will there ever be a way to thank you enough?
We have no idea what you have been through.
Some lose their home with all their stuff.
We need to care for them and pay our dues.
