I feel my life is blessed because my love of God.
My life has been blessed with good health, close ties with my family, and awareness that God loves me eternally. When my husband and I were first married, we moved into our first small home, we were the happiest couple ever. We lived there four years and when expecting my first child, we knew living in our small house would soon be over. It was a country home, and I remember after a rainstorm, we had a rainbow appear covering one side of our ten acres to the other side. Let’s just say, we felt honored and blessed.

We later moved to a hobby farm where we raised sheep, goats, pigs, cows, ducks, and chickens. We always had a variety of meat and farm-grown eggs to eat. We felt blessed. We raised five children here, and they were the happiest years. Of course, we both lost our parents who were missed by all. My husband lost one brother to a car accident, and I lost my brother to lung cancer. Sometimes it’s just meant to be no matter how many prayers. We learned to cope with our children’s close calls.

Jonathan, age 7, had a ruptured appendix where he was hospitalized. Brian and Jonathan had a close call when tipping over in a jeep on a country road. Brian had another close call running off the road in the worst possible area. He told us an angel helped him out of his car and to the nearest neighbor for help. His car was totaled. I had five children and these two boys gave us the biggest scare.

Now, in the time of covid-19, Jonathan was hospitalized with this China virus. This was our biggest scare yet, and lots of prayers from our churches and others helped him recover. This is how I know God is with us, showing us the way. We walk with God every day. My family is blessed, and I know God loves us.

Micah 6:8
He has told you, O man, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?
