A short poem honoring the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The Unknown

There is an eternal memory in the tomb of the strongest stone.
Stone hewn out of the very ground from which a life was born.
A life that stands for freedom and Liberty.

A gentle wind breathes softly over the tomb.
Within, valor and honor cry proudly.
The breeze speaks to all who will listen.

A lone guard stands in silence before the stone.
The immovable protector defends against the foolish and unwise.
A guard who is a symbol of a country.

The guard walks slowly, quietly, with reverence.
Over and over, he retraces his steps.
As quiet as the breath of wind that caresses the stone.
