Wars end when tired old men let go of radioactive dreams: Ukraine.
Sunflowers and wheat fields
Rich with coal and oil
Now they bomb the airfields
Drive tanks across the soil

A war for old men's dreams
Radioactive under Chernobyls dome
A pregnant woman falls and screams
She will never bring that child home

In ruins, teenagers learn to fight
With guns given yesterday
A nation rises for what is right
The enemy's columns are delayed

Missiles on hospitals and schools
Apartments and city street
The enemy does not obey the rules
As he starts to taste defeat

Freedom is just a word
Until you pay for it with blood
A nation's soul has stirred
Now comes justice like a flood

Wars end when tired old men
Let go of vanities, embrace realities
We will sigh, in relief, when
The dark cloud passes in the breeze
