The Headlines Scream

The headlines are screaming--
pimping one disaster after another--
war,
climate change ...
until hope itself is bleeding out
and the bitter taste of death
spreads across
humanity's mental landscape.

Numb
to the possibility of healing,
we attempt to hide the shame
of our own self-inflected wounds,
while blaming the Media
for spreading fake news.

As individuals we must learn
to ask questions
and search for the facts
behind the headlines.
