About myself and my attempts to assist other folks. My heart got the best of me.
I’ve given you many reasons hoping that you’d see me.
It’s been many lonely years, sad that you’ve set me free.
I’d give you my creative if we were meant to be.
I’ve turned from all my hopes and shattered dreams.
Living my life alone in sadness since you’ve turned from me.
There’s no time for us, no longer reasons to discuss, you simply have let me be.
So, take a sip of whisky and pretend you’re me.
Think of me now and then perhaps you’ll again have need of me.
It stands to reason that without true love, life’s just so plain.
I’ve shed enough tears chasing you in perpetuity.
Now to frame myself with my art for all to see.
Perhaps there’s someone out there who has need of my creativity.
(Instrumental)
I’ve written many things hoping that your love was for me.
Upon this world together as one for all to see.
I’ve framed you with my creative in order to set you free.
I gave from my soul hoping that you’d see and want me.
Since the beginning of your career, yet you simply just can’t see.
There’s no longer any reason for me to give my art away.
There never was an us, no need to fuss, I’ve truly set you free.
So, take a sip of whisky and pretend you’re me.
Think of way back when as you turned from me.
It stands to reason that without love, nothing’s in it for me.
I’ve lost enough of my years chasing you in perpetuity.
Now to face myself and my art for all to see.
Perhaps there’s someone out there who has need of my creativity.
(Instrumental)
I’ve suffered through homelessness, sadness, along with despair.
I’ve lived through much in the way of personal tragedy.
I’d have sacrificed all my art in exchange for a prenup and ring.
You healed my soul, regardless of how things stand between you and me.
I’m thankful to have known true love even if it’s not meant to be.
There never was an us, nothing truly to discuss, you simply don’t want me.
So, take a sip of whisky and give a toast to me.
Think of what I’ve given you hoping that you’d face me.
It stands to reason that without true love, life has no reason.
I’ve given enough away for free chasing you in perpetuity.
Now to embrace my art to heal myself for all to see.
Perhaps there’s someone out there who has need of my creativity.
(Pause)
Yeah, perhaps there’s a woman out there waiting for a guy like me.
Who’d sacrifice her own life and art out of love for all to see.
Without regard to herself, embracing words given for humanity.
In the name of the one above walking away from the monetary.
