Bad Friend

“Are you trying out for the end of year musical, Sally?”
“Oh, yeah! Have you heard, they’re gonna do, Legally Blonde,”
“You’ll be perfect for the lead role, then.” Katy said.
Her words were pleasant but was there a hint of jealousy? “How about you?”
“I’ve no chance,” Katy said. “Anyway, I’m not interested in drama. I’m trying out for the swimming squad.
On the day of the tryouts, Sally was excited and confident. Today the drama teacher, Miss Angel, would select the lead. Sally had been practicing her singing for the role for weeks.
But apparently so had Katy.
