A Poem about a morning ritual some people have.
The effort echoes through the chill
as the first beams of awareness pierce ritual slumber.
Each breath is drawn in time,
painfully pulled in and shoved down in gulps.
Every step a chisel. Every step a hammer blow.
Carving from replete flesh,
a future.
