She was the type of girl who wanted to live in a pink house.
Note

She was the type of girl who wanted to live in a pink house.
It would have grey shutters and a white picket fence--
A two-story farmhouse style with a red gable roof
And a covered veranda with a rocking chair and a swing
Where her old dad would rock and smoke his pipe
And she and I would cuddle on the swing
And chat quietly in the warm summer evening
Until the fireflies told us it was time for bed.

She was the type of girl who wanted to live in a pink house.
It would have a big fridge and a dishwasher
And custom cabinets and a kitchen island
And a six-piece distressed oak dining set
Where we would all sit around gorging ourselves
At Easter and Christmas and Thanksgiving;
And a big bedroom with a four-poster bed
Where we would make love for hours at a time.

She was the type of girl who wanted to live in a pink house.
It would be filled with growing kids and babes in arms
And running feet and laughs and tears
And little fuzzy pups to growl and bark
A backyard for kids and dogs to run around;
For friends and neighbors to enjoy at times;
For scary campouts with the kids; for family picnics;
And for cheerful relaxation after work.

Although I was a man who hated pink
I loved the girl, and so she got her wish.
