Raw, tense and full of emotion. Also, rather chilly.
I am standing at the bus stop
and the bus is really late
but the roads are truly awful
they're in such a sorry state

Morning traffic is so busy
that there often is a jam
Winter wind is harsh and biting
I'm freezing cold I am

The sleet is sharp and icy
feels like needles in my eyes
so I pull my hat down lower
a futile exercise

I wish I were at home in bed
with biscuits and some tea
and definitely much warmer
such a happy fantasy

Now a bus it is approaching
of course there is no room
as it slowly drives right past me
I feel a deeper gloom

There'll be another in a minute
they always come in threes
eventually I'll get to work
and hopefully, unfreeze.
