Maria Lee Hypochondriac Writers’ Cramp

Maria Lee
Was a hypochondriac
And a fibromyalgia patient to boot

She frequently had bouts of an insomniac
As she tried to sleep
Tossing and turning
Thinking about her latest symptoms

Imagining that her aches and pains
Were signs of Cancer, COVID
Or the latest medical alert

But due to fibromyalgia
She could not be sure
The pain was real

Finally, she had enough
Convinced that the end was near
She woke up her husband

Drove to the EER
Sitting on the edge of the exam table,
she waited for the doctor
to reveal the results.
