This was an attempt to write an action poem. Not bad for an experiment.
Not much left!

Running! Racing!

Out of breath!

Duck! Dive!

Find a wall to hide behind

Bullets fly!

Crashing through

just an inch higher, it might have got you!

Reaching out, with a flinch
the cannon barks fire in your fist

Splinters crashing, falling down.

Gasping, crying, they crash to the ground

Hurry! Racing!

Not much time!

We must escape

before the bomb goes off

And we....
