A far sighted young woman who gets what she deserves
Hepzibah Crane was a gypsy so fair,
Bright was her eye, dark was her hair.
Sweet was her laughter and her nature was bold.
Wrapped in her arms you could never be cold.
Her lips tasted of honey, and gold her skin hue,
And many were the lovers, her hand they sought to woo.
Hepzibah was clever, and gifted with the sight.
She knew which ones would leave her, crying in the night.
So she gave her troth to Reubin, a carpenter by trade,
Who built them both a marriage bed, and soon on it they laid.
Happy was their wedding, and long the life they led.
Many were their children, and thanks to God they said.
