His rival loves with more than he possesses, yet he possesses the love his rival can't.
Oh, hatred sings a shouted song,
but love, more loudly still,
proclaims its object with a glance
and with a silent quill.

So, can I calm with love the hate
or still it with a kiss?
Will leaving end this endless fight
and bring eternal bliss?

I see the fury of his pain!
I see it calmed for love,
but blind to starlight, he's the one
who I am jealous of.
