An old Christmas Card for Writer's Cramp

An Old Christmas Card

Sam Adams, and his wife
The enigmatic Maria Lee
Were reflecting on Christmas
And other holidays

They were looking at
An old Christmas card.
They had just received

Wondering
if they should
Respond at all.

They just were not
Feeling in the Christmas mood
“Bah humbug”, said Sam
His wife concurred.

And they became non-Christmas
Observers from that date forward
A true Christmas dissenter,
a holiday denier

Enough,
No more of the forced
Holiday cheer.

No more Christmas gifts
No more Christmas trees
But they would continue
To have a special meal
On Christmas day.
