I cling here ... snug in the warmth of a breath respiring from the depths of your being.
Inspiration at the threshold of your being

I cling here among coarse black ropes
snug in the warmth of a breath respiring
from the depths of your being.

I inhale as you do,
fresh air wafting past me on its journey
to enter your lungs.

In these moments of inhale and exhale,
an ocean of moist air embraces me —
now in, now out.

Your nostrils barely flare
as the sleep of the innocent surrounds you,
soothing me.

I would nuzzle here
at the threshold of your being,
breathing in your peace,
learning to let go.
