Oh no, this is the last day to get a gift, why did I wait?
Oh, wow oh great it's my last day to get a gift
Why oh why did I wait until the last minute to shop
Why must this holiday season bring so much pressure, just why
I don't think there is a perfect gift, it just doesn't exist

I have walked from store to store to store
I can't wait to get home and have a cup of hot cocoa
I hate fighting the crowds
I hate all the traffic

Why oh why did I wait until the last minute
I do this every year I do
Then it dawned on me I already knew the perfect gift to get
So I went home to my safe nice warm home

I wrapped my small gift up in a simple brown package
I put a big red bow on it and popped it under the tree
My son came down the stairs on Christmas day to only that one small box that day
He was kind of in shock, he was

I sit him down in front of the tree and gave him that simple small box
He opened that box and his mouth dropped open really wide
There was a small babe and a Christmas card typed up nice
The card read this is a small reminder of what matters most......

Christ in your heart and sharing his love abroad
Then when I saw the smile I knew he got it he jumped up and hugged me
I smiled a big smile as I rose from the couch
I opened the garage door and there sat the rest of his gifts.
