She thought that he was ugly.
She thought that he was ugly.
He thought that she was fat.
No good result could ever come
from such a start as that.

But that is how it started,
this blind date for those two,
for they had both decided that
they would try something new.

And so they went to dinner
where they could have a chat.
Well, soon they found some rhythm and
they talked of this and that.

They had some things in common.
Yeah, much to his surprise.
And as she told him of herself
he stared into her eyes.

Her green eyes had a sparkle
that matched up with her smile.
He hadn’t met someone so nice
in such a long, long while.

And as they dined together
they really got along.
Those first impressions that they had
could not have been more wrong.

In truth, he wasn’t ugly.
Not really quite that bad.
She realized to her dismay
that he only was sad.

And now that he gazed at her,
he thought that she looked great.
In fact, he loved the way she looked
and thought this might be fate.

And fate is what you’d call it,
the answer to a prayer.
It’s been so long now since they met
and they became a pair.

Well, he may still be ugly
and she may still be fat.
But they don’t care about those things,
nor do they notice that.

For they have found each other,
what they were looking for -
someone to spend a lifetime with.
Well, who could ask for more?
