Endless Miles of Highway

Endless Miles of Highway

When Sam Adams
Was wearing a younger man’s clothes.
He was often broke, and did foolish things
Often embarking on dangerous journeys.

One day he took a Greyhound bus ride
He was outside Winnemucca
When he lost his pass, stolen no doubt,

He went on to Salt Lake City.
Where the Greyhound corporation
Refused to do anything to help him,

Threatened to call the cops,
When he retrieved his bags
Bound for NYC.,

Endless miles of highway
greeted him
as he started
hitchhiking the land,

Back in the early ’70s
a strange time
to discover America.
