A response to a friend on aging.
On my Former Mayor Malinda Miles page, I recently wrote -- I am proud of where I am in life and earned every pound, gray hair, wrinkles, ache, and pain! I have four adult children, 17 grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren to prove it.

Life has not always been kind, but it has been real.

Some regrets, but too few to mention, and life isn't over yet.

Wake up every morning excited to see what the day will bring. Wearing my age -- seventy-six (76) -- with dignity and grace and loving every minute of it.

If you are unhappy in your life, and that is perfectly okay today is another opportunity to change it for the past is just that, the past.

Today is your present. Open it and get the surprise of your life when you grab hold of it and decide to be the person YOU want to be. YOU can do it.

Shatter that false image that keeps you stressed, and take on your new persona with vigor and vim. Even if your friends and family disown the new you, you will love yourself and be surprised at the amount of street you will alleviate! Try it. You might like it.

Loving me, some me, and some you! Aging, showing, and acting your age can be beautiful.
