Apple blossoms, future pie
& cider chilled, & sweet crunch;
appropriately pale shade -
cherry lemonade.

Red fruit lay brimming, ready
inside wombs of tree daughters
grown only to be eaten
by those born of Eve.

Petals lay on grassy bed
seduced by bees and breezes;
blanketed soft afternoons
slip into evenings.
