Initially blinded by the magic mist of love, the lover wakens to reality
MIRAGE

I thought you were my love queen,
Beautiful damsel, fair.
Your curls were silken, with an
Aura of scented air.

You bewitched me by one glance,
As if through sorcery.
You cast a spell that did make
My life a mockery.

The thought you would ruin me,
I had never conceived
You concealed your true nature,
Cunningly you deceived.

Why did you break my pure heart?
I’m a mental wreck now,
I am a caricature
Of my own self, somehow.

But why should I blame you dear?
In your love I was blind.
I just pursued a mirage,
No water could I find!
