Bound By Our Own Sin
For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Proverbs 5:21-22
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

I was reading in Proverbs recently, and ran across these verses. I found them interesting. What do you think they mean?

Answer:
Wow! His own iniquity binds him. His sins are compared to binding cords. This brings new meaning to Jesus setting the captives free. So many times we don't want to give up our sin. It is our own sin that is keeping us bound. God sees everything that goes on. He gave us a way to freedom, but we have to be willing to embrace and accept it.

PROMPT May 15th

Many fairy tales are often based in truth. Research the true story behind your favorite fairy tale and share it with your readers. What lesson or warning was the tale trying to impart?

https://owlcation.com/humanities/goldilocks-and-three-bears

This went in circles but was quite interesting. I had no idea. It turns out Goldilocks had quite an evolution. She started out as a fox, a female fox (old vixen), then evolved into an old lady with silver hair, possibly representing a witch, then she evolved again into a small child with golden hair. 🤔

There were always 3 bears, but they weren't always a family or civilized. They must have been originally 3 bachelors. They were horrible house keepers, primative. I am a little confused here about what came first. The “vixen”originally came in the rob the 3 bears. Then somehow Goldilocks as a little girl came in and tidied up. Either way, the Goldilocks whoever she was ended up sleeping in the smallest bear’s bed. When caught, she supposedly escaped through the window.

I am not sure what the moral of the story is. Maybe it is that stealing is still stealing rather the door is locked or not. 🤷‍♀️ I will admit that this was an interesting subject.

A limo just arrived at your door for your use Where are you going? Who would you take with you?

I would definitely be taking my best friend with me. I don't know where we would go right off the top of my head. Maybe we could go have a fancy dinner somewhere and then go sightseeing in luxury.
