God Loves Our Soul
For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Isaiah 38:16-17
16 O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these things is the life of my spirit: so wilt thou recover me, and make me to live.
17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

What does this say to you?

Answer:
I think this Scripture is speaking of spiritual healing. God loves our soul so he has delivered us from corruption and completely forgiven our sins. When we repent and give our lives to God, then he will recover our lives and health of our soul.

Scripture writing - Ephesians 4:25-28

Scripture:
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Observations:
Verse 25- Just don't lie. Always tell us the truth.
Verse 26- It is ok to feel angry, but don't hang onto it and don't let it cause you to sin.
Verse 27- Don’t give the Devil any opportunity to tempt you or lead you astray.
Verse 28- Don’t steal from anyone. Make honest money by working for it, and give to those that need it.

Application:
Do not lie. Do not react out of anger or hold onto anger. Do not steal, but rather give to those in need.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to let go of anger. Help me not to react out of anger, but in the love of Jesus even when I am angry. Give me wisdom to be able to help others when it is truly needed.
In Christ’s name,
Amen

A family member has married outside of their race, religion, social class or broke some taboo. How did different folks react at first. After a year, or 5.

Thank you Kara for the great suggestions.

This depends on the family. I have heard of some being completely disowned. Others are still accepted as part of the family but shunned at certain events and gatherings.

Personally, I am a mold breaker. Lol I am one to push the envelope a bit and form my own opinions. As a result, it did put some strain on certain family relationships such as with my parents. I have been viewed as a rebel. Maybe I am to some extent. I don't want to be anyone’s puppet on a string. I have had to stand up against abuse, and there are certain things I just can not and will not tolerate.

It just occurred to me today that I did not send out the prompt last night. Can the captain be derelict? I guess so!

I got good news today. My cancer is in remission and my glaucoma is under control. So I dodged two bullets. God be praised. On the way back from Medical I looked out the port and saw a shining star. (445) writes about faith in

. Write about this. Pray for her as well. She is having a hard time.

I do believe I wrote about this yesterday, but I can definitely keep her in my prayers. I am glad that you are doing better too. 😉 Do we call you Captain Chris? 😊

Neva asked a question on Tuesday and Kara responded with some excellent examples of prompts. I reached out to Kara but didn't get a response about using her suggestions. I hope she's okay with me going ahead. I'm heading to bed, my recent surgery is still quite painful.

Odd couple... can you live or travel with someone who is messy or not punctual or with someone who's a clean freak or nagging. How do you cope. How do you sort out what's important and what to let go.

In other words, how do you choose your battles? Lol sometimes, you just have to ask yourself, who or what is this harming? If the answer is nothing or no one. It just bugs you. Then let it go. If it causes harm or disharmony, then you should say something. If you have someone that isn’t punctual, tell them the time a few minutes ahead so the likelihood of them being late reduces. For example, if dinner is at 6 p.m., tell them they have to be there by 5:45, something like that. Or give them a reminder call or text. It depends on the person or situation. The clean freak will be easier to get along with if you just clean as you go. The nagger is the one I have trouble with. I am stubborn and strong-willed. The more a nagger nags, the less likely they are going to get what they want from me, and the more likely they will get the not-so-nice me to come out and play. It is likely we could clash.
