Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
What is one song that has really impacted your faith journey?

Answer:
In Christ Alone is a beautiful song. I would say this one is at the top of my list right now. However, there are a lot of songs that mean a lot too me. Each one has their own special story.

PROMPT July 14th

We all celebrate holidays of some type. Which one of the lesser known holidays is your favorite? (You cannot talk about Christmas/Thanksgiving or their equivalent in your country in this entry.)

It seems as of late, I don’t really celebrate holidays much. Since my parents died, I don’t really have the family get togethers. Most cousins live in another state. My best friend doesn’t have much family either. A lot of the time we just spend time together and don’t do much. July 4th used to be a favorite for me when I was a kid. I dreaded some holidays. Holidays, lesser known or otherwise just aren’t the same unless you have people to celebrate them with. I can’t say I really have much to say on this topic. I do try to make the most of every moment of every day. So if I truly desire to celebrate a holiday, even if I am alone I will celebrate it in my own way.

Scripture writing - Proverbs 5:22-23; Proverbs 29:5-6

Scripture:
Proverbs 5:22-23
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Proverbs 29:5-6
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

Observations:
Verse 22- Men are held in bondage by their own sins.
Verse 23- His sins will cause him to be blind and ignorant and to be lost.

Verse 5- A man that speaks in flatteries is not to be trusted.
Verse 6- An evil man will set a snare, but righteous men rejoice and sing.

Application:
Our own sin hold us captive.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Keep me free from the bondage of sin. Thank you for the freedom we find in you.
In Christ’s name,
Amen

That isn’t bad advice. It is basically saying to not dwell in the past. Focus on the present.

, a poem about reincarnation. As a Christian, I personally do not believe in reincarnation but I respect those who do. How do you feel about reincarnation?

I personally believe in the saying, “You only live once!” I believe everyone is given one life to live. I do not believe in reincarnation. Hmmm! Maybe this is how we get multiple personality disorder. We have a whole lot of different personalities in one body. All that reincarnating confuses some people. Lol No, I am just joking. I do not wish to make fun of someone or their disability. That was just a random goofy thought.
