One writer's journey |
| Thank you Sciwriter I'm healing. SLOWLY. Knees and elbows; by Tuesday, my neck and shoulders were sore. Every time I see that video of me flying across the back room, I cringe. It seriously looks like someone picked me up and tossed me like a sack of potatoes. My biggest problem: I'm always on the go doing something, and right now, sitting is painful. Bending the knees, pain. Showering was an absolute nightmare. My knees swelled, and the soap hitting the torn skin had me almost in tears. Those spots still burn. Thank God my youngest still lives at home because I only lasted a few hours at work on Tuesday and needed help around the house. I am the host for all family holidays, so the timing sucked. We were short four this year. Miss Kaia picked up Influenza A at pre-school and brought it home on Monday. By Wednesday, she was super sick, so Thanksgiving was out. I did manage to send them food, so they didn't have to cook, and they got to enjoy Turkey and all the trimmings. Unfortunately, that meant the baby caught it, and they were at the ER last night. Kaia came here, so now there's a chance we will all get it. I'm hoping not since she no longer had a fever, but as I tend to catch everything that goes around, I'm not going to hold my breath. Our first snow is happening now; it's practically a whiteout. I don't see how I can shovel, which I love doing. There's something magical about the first snowfall, being outside in the morning, and taking it all in before the neighborhood comes alive. And I'm going to miss that! I get that I need to take care of myself, and I'm trying. My knees are burning, so I'm off to ice them. Again. Oh, and what the hell happened to four days of non-stop Bond action on Thanksgiving weekend? T needs Bond, James Bond, to get through the body aches and pains, damn it |
