An Unfortunate and Typical Writerly Frustration
I decided I need to start a sequel to one of my novels, and although I have a basic idea of where I want it to go, I’m having a difficult time getting the words right. I’ve written just shy of 3,000 words over the last few days, but they all kinda suck.

I shouldn’t be surprised. I haven’t tried to tackle an entire novel in years, so I am way, way out of practice.

I’m thinking I need to slow down and forget writing the story in favor of *gasp* an outline. As a pantser, it’s like garlic to a vampire.

I did try this same sequel before and wrote more than 20k words. I stopped, because it wasn’t going in the direction that I wanted. I figured if I started over, it would make more sense and flow better.

No such luck so far. The good news is there’s always that [Delete] button…
