Say "Cheesse!"
For the life of me, I cannot figure out why every single picture that is taken of me in school (whole group, or team), I look like I just saw a ghost. I kid you not. Taking pictures has, over the years, become a terrifying ordeal for me.

Ok, let's be fair, it is not just at school. For some reason, I have this irrational fear of a camera snapping a picture of me. I didn't used to feel this way. It has only shown its ugly face for about, maybe ten years.

I know, time to get to the bottom of this, right?

One thing that I have discovered is that, when being asked to smile on demand...as in...when you are getting your picture taken, and are supposed to look absolutely thrilled about it, is that my smile looks completely fake. On demand, I just cannot make it look sincere. Seriously. When I know that picture day is coming up, I try to practice different types of smiles in the mirror. You know...teeth showing/not showing...cute little shy smile, big ole' smile that wrinkles up under your eye sockets. None of them look like the real deal.

So then, I just stopped trying, and I would just stay straight~faced, but then...my teammates began to criticize that. I just can't win!

Then I thought...maybe it has something to do with aging...something that I am uncomfortable with. I just don't know.

So, yesterday was picture day, and I can't quite remember what sort of rictus my face twisted into, but I will soon find out. I will hear about it. I don't even look at them when they are placed in my box, I carry them (without looking) to by bag, then home, then into the trash.

Imagine, if you will, standing in an old rickety shack in the middle of the woods. You have just finished barring the back door with every piece of wood you could find, using every last nail. Then...you added a second, third, and fourth layer, because...you were hiding from the zombies that were out and about, looking for some yummies to eat.

Then, imagine hearing not one, not two, but a whole herd of zombies (those of you who have seen The Walking Dead know just how many zombies this is), bursting right through the front wall of the shack, dragging their undead carcasses relentlessly toward you, and now you have nowhere to run!

That's my face on picture day!
*Shock*
