| I did receive a blog comment. I just haven't been on for the past several weeks. I confess it's hard to come on here because I wonder whether or not this site really helps. Many, the majority, of the articles I read contain advice that I have known for years. Very rarely do I read anything that makes me whistle with appreciation. Don't get me wrong. I don't know everything there is to know about writing. Not anywhere close. But I am more of a write when I can and let the story tell itself kind of guy instead of a plan the story the way I want to tell it. I find if I just let the story write itself then I am many times suprised on where the narration and characters are going. If I try to write the story I usually end up overthinking it and making it far more complicated than it needs to be and I tend to drift into melodrama. |
