Queen of Carmel Mountain:
The Shrine of the Bab1

The shrine stands,
halfway up God's Holy Mountain,
its golden dome glistening in the sun.

Nine terraces
ascend Carmel Mountain
to the marble while mausoleum
that holds The Bab's
Earthly remains.

From the terrace of the Shrine,
nine more terraces ascend
to Carmel's crest.

Nineteen terraces in all,
enhanced by exquisite gardens,
invite pilgrims
and tourist
to ascend the Mountain.
