(Meow?) ![]() ![]() Curious? Go Ahead !!!!!!! Scroll down to read my thoughts... ![]() ![]() ![]() This is the page with more details about Jeff ![]() ![]() ![]() The name of the contest is: Barrel Of Monkeys, and it's a music-blogging contest. It seems as if Jeff ![]() I've put his rules below with one edit where I changed "seven" to "ten" to go along with what seems to have been his final decision. After the rules, you'll find other interesting things about this contest (including -- but not limited to -- my entries), so keep scrolling down. Even after the contest is over, I'll be adding to this entry until at least New Year's Day 2121. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Rules: For Day 1, choose any song from any year. For Day 2, choose a song from either the year before or the year after. For Days 3-10, keep going in the same direction, doing one song from the next year in line. Examples: "Blue Orchid" by The White Stripes (2005) *Right* "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado (2006) *Right* "No One" by Alicia Keys (2007) "Blue Orchid" by The White Stripes (2005) *Right* "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne (2004) *Right* "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne (2003) Here's the catch, just to make it a little more challenging. Your blog entries can be about whatever you want, EXCEPT: NO choosing the song just because you like it NO informational details about the band or song In other words, you have to do something truly creative or insightful with these entries. Write a short story or a poem inspired by the songs. Tell us what the songs mean to you personally. Whatever you choose to do, it can't be an entry that basically just says, " I picked this song because it's my favorite song of that year" and/or "I picked this song and here are some interesting facts about the song and the band." All ten songs are due by 11:59PM WDC time on September 10th, so you have plenty of time to work at your own pace, plan things out, and give us ten great songs that are chronologically linked together! For each song, create a blog entry that provides the name of the song, the artists performing the song, the year the song was released, and a link/embedded video for a YouTube video or other online source where the song can be heard and/or the lyrics can be found. Then write a little something inspired by the song you chose! Post your entries here in the forum when they're finished! All ten entries must be posted by 11:59PM WDC time on September 10th. You can either post them individually or all in one forum post. +++++++++++++++++++++++++ My Chosen Songs September 1st "The Three Bells (1959) The Browns" ![]() September 2nd "Sailor (Your Home Is The Sea) (1960) Lolita" ![]() September 3rd "I've Told Every Little Star (1961) Linda Scott" ![]() September 4th "Limbo Rock (1962) Chubby Checker" ![]() September 5th "Our Day Will Come (1963) Ruby & The Romantics" ![]() September 6th "It's A Small World After All (1964} WED Enterprises " ![]() September 7th "Hawaiian Wedding Song (1965) Don Ho" ![]() September 8th "Love Me With All Of Your Heart (1966) The Bachelors" ![]() September 9th "San Francisco (1967) Scott McKenzie" ![]() September 10th "Abraham, Martin, & John (1968) Dion" ![]() |
