| We are lost boys Hiding in the folds of Dark's Present veil Scrambling and carving out a life Amid the destruction of lives Motherless boys Scraping together the scrapes Thrown from vengeful men Who let us survive Only to serve them If we weaken We are cast away So we hold on tight To each other Take comfort in each others company And share our dreams of hope And a future that is changed. We don't want to morph Into those callas men Who press needles into their flesh Sell guns and run drugs Who tell us we will be them one day No... I ain't going back again Not to that hell hole Where life barely existed Before I found my voice Before I lost my friends To the same dark side of life Gone. My past is gone Erased. I will find another way And shed the misted veil That still clings In tatters To the edges of my nightmares. I can be more than my past I will be more than my past. Lines = 38 Notes ▶︎ ![]() ![]() |
