| Silent Night Softly did the snow descend. In, came Joseph and Mary Long and difficult was the journey Entire Bethlehem was filled to brim Not a single room for Mary to deliver her child To the manger they went, where Jesus, the Christ was born. Nightly shepherds saw the star, heard the angels in Heaven Inspiring words from above to be forever preserved in mankind’s mind. Great event to occur, slavery to be removed, for the messiah was born. “Hallelujah,” sang the divine choir, music flowed from sky to sky praising the Son of God Tonight, in the silent special night with faith restored, began Christmas all over the world. Lines-11 An acrostic poem on Silent Night. Written for Bard’s Hall Contest. December, 2022. |
